Primary Setup
My primary gaming rig and peripherals.
Primary PC
| CPU | Intel Core i9-13900K Great CPU. Had to RMA my first one due to the infamous undervolting corrosion issue, but no problems since. Update your BIOS. |
|---|---|
| GPU | Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 4090 Stupidly overpowered. I'll probably never push this thing to its full potential. |
| Memory | G.Skill Trident Z5 64GB DDR5-6400 Largest capacity DDR5 at a high speed with a compatible motherboard at the time of purchase. |
| Motherboard | Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO Got it cheap as previous-gen, but it had a better memory controller than any Z790 board under $1,000. Only downside is the second PCIe x16 slot is blocked by my 4090. |
| Case | Corsair 1000D Airflow Massive case. Great airflow, no issues. Definitely a heavy beast though. |
Peripherals
| Primary Monitor | Asus VG279QM 27" 1080p IPS 280Hz 280Hz with G-Sync is great, but I'd go 1440p minimum next time - especially with a setup powerful enough to push it. |
|---|---|
| Secondary Monitor | MSI MAG 275QF 27" QHD 180Hz New acquisition. Can't say too much yet. |
| Keyboard | SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL (Hall Effect) Very snappy. Bought it for the hall effect switches - perfect for counter-strafing in CS and Valorant. |
| Mouse | Razer Viper V3 Pro I've tried 20+ mice as a reviewer and former sponsored player. This is my favorite by shape, weight, and sensor. |
| Headphones | Sony WH-1000XM6 Replaced my AirPods Max before a flight. Great noise cancelling, weighs a third of the AirPods. Don't love the on-ear fit as much, but solid headphones. |
| Microphone | Blue Yeti Blackout Edition Great mics, dirt cheap, easy to find second-hand. I own three of them. |
